" Thanks, Nate. I only wish
I had found this method when I started
music years ago. The book has helped
to give a logic to the keyboard that
I did not get from conventional lessons."

Have
you been struggling to learn to play
the piano and don’t know where
to turn to find the information you
need? I know the feeling. I had to teach
myself to play the piano, because every
time I went to a teacher, they bored
me to tears.
Being
an adult beginner at the piano can be
frustrating if can’t find the
right materials to teach you the information
you really want to learn. I know you
don’t want to learn to play “Mary
Had a Little Lamb” or you think
that classical piano is not really what
your looking for.
What
you want to be able to do is play great
songs without too much effort. Songs
like “Somewhere over the Rainbow”
or “What a Wonderful World”.
You just want to be able to play your
favorite songs and have then sound great.
The trick is to not learn to read every
note, but to learn to play chords. You
might have heard of a “fake book”.
A fake book has only the melody and
the chords, and you “fake”
your own arrangement. This is infinitely
easier and more fun than trying to learn
to play every written note precisely,
and if you know what you’re doing,
it will sound a lot better too!
Are
you frustrated that when you play the
piano, you seem to hit “bad notes”
or your chords sound amateur-ish? Do
you feel like you don’t how the
proper steps to learning to play piano
chords so they sound great, every time?
Maybe
you bought Scott Houston’s book
but you want something that goes into
more depth. You’ve had some piano
lessons but you want break away from
reading exactly what’s on the
page.
So
if you are this type of a person, a
person who knows that quality piano
instruction methods for adults are hard
to come by, that most piano teachers
based their programs on the needs of
five years olds, but you know what’s
possible . . .
Maybe
you’ve seen piano players at piano
bars, who can play by ear, or you’ve
seen a friend improvise from a fake
book. What do they know that you don’t?
See,
the problem has been, that up to now,
most piano books are written for those
who read piano music.
"But
if you know how to read music, you don't
need a book on how to play piano, right?"
The
irony is, the best chord-piano players
don’t even read music –
or write music books. A few years ago,
I visited a piano bar in New York City
and was amazed at a player whose fingers
moved up and down the piano like so
many busy spiders spinning a web, and
when I told him what chords he was playing
he said, “Yeah, I don’t
think about it like that, it just goes
straight from my ear to my fingers.”
I asked him about lessons, and he said,
“I don’t think I could teach
what I do.” There have been some
chord piano books, but they don’t
bridge the gap between understanding
chord theory and applying it to playing
from fake books. Up until now, there
simply hasn’t been a method available
that covers chord theory and how to
apply it to reading from a fake book.
What
if you could finally pull out a fake
book and play through all your favorite
songs? How would it feel if could have
your friends over and have a “sing-a-long”?
Now,
there is a way. Renowned jazz pianist
and author Nathan Andersen has created
a home study course that will take your
hand and show you the way. The program
is a downloadable library of six piano
e-books.

The Secrets of Sight Reading Piano
Music
Nathan
didn’t learn piano as a child,
so started to teach himself as an adult.
He found it difficult to use the piano
books at the music store because he
couldn’t read music that well
(At the time, anyway) So he started
to use “fake books”, where
you only have to read the melody and
then you improvise the accompaniment.
Over a period of twelve years, he has
created his own personal method of finding
piano chords based on the musical concept
of a fourth. This secret method is receiving
rave reviews from thousands of piano
players just like you, and even from
university Professors of Music!
Each
of the books addresses a different part
of getting really great at the art of
chord piano.
If
you’re a beginner, you can learn
to play the piano as many do the guitar,
by learning to play chords. Learn to
read common chord symbols such as C
and F and even difficult symbols such
as C13b9 or F#11. In fact, Nathan’s
method will let your fingers gravitate
to the right keys, just as easily as
when you're typing: the system makes
it a no-brainer!
If
you’re a more advanced player,
you can learn to play with style from
fake-books, jazz charts or popular sheet
music; learn "smooth voice leading"
and how to make your improvised accompaniments
sound fancy and professional.
Plus,
learning the chords is enjoyable and
informative, because the books don’t
require any actual note reading.
Nearly
all of the exercises have the note names
written underneath the staff. This allows
you to learn to read notes while you
learn piano chords!
